The great thing about running a vegan blog is that my friends, family, and even people I have just met are always tripping over themselves to give me recommendations of places they’ve seen that cater for vegans. It’s brilliant, it’s like I have a pair of herbivore eyes everywhere!
A couple of weeks back one of my good friends Ann (from A Quirky Lifestyle fame) insisted I tried out Tani Modi – an unassuming little deli tucked underneath street level on Hanover Street. This Italian lunch spot is a favourite with locals and makes, Ann excitedly told me, the best vegan panini ever.
Vegan options available at Tani Modi
Tani Modi has only one vegan panini option, conveniently named “The Vegan”, but it is stuffed with imaginative ingredients and perfect for a quick eat. The panini is filled with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, peppers, rocket and cream of olives. It’s so good that it’s a popular choice even with omnivores such as Ann.
It’s also worth noting that they do a mean coffee, which of course can be made with non-dairy milk on request.
This panini is a great Italian style creation that full of flavour and perfect for a quick lunch. At only £4 to sit in, it’s pretty good value for money, too. The premises may look small from the outside but there is a decent amount of seating so you should be able to sit in or take away.
It just goes to show that even the small hidden gems are providing options for vegans – which is always great to see!
