Portobello and Duddingston are two beautiful neighbourhoods to the east of Edinburgh city centre. Portobello is a vibrant seaside suburb, with amusements, a long stretch of golden beach and a bustling high street. Duddingston, on the other hand, is a sleepy village on the edge of Holyrood Park. Both are wonderful retreats from the city centre, and are home to a couple of decent vegan options if you end up feeling peckish.
Gogo Beets is Portobello’s newest grab-and-go veggie takeaway and definitely worth a visit.
