Edinburgh has a vibrant vegan scene, with lots of events happening in Scotland’s capital every month. Whether you’re into activism, supper clubs or just fancy a browse around a vegan-friendly market, there is pretty much something for everyone.

Film screening: Vitamin Sea and Q&A with Cal Major
Wednesday 2 October 2019, 7pm

Vitamin Sea documents Cal’s world record stand up paddleboarding expedition from Land’s End to John O’Groats, the whole length of the UK, in 2018.
The film focuses on community action around plastic pollution, the need to reconnect to nature in order to drive a desire to protect it, and the importance of time in nature for mental health.
Treat yourself to a pre-screening meal of a hot dish and salad for £12, served from 5pm.

Why Vegan, Why Not?

Join Jackie Jones, the author of The Scottish Vegan Cookbook, at the National Library of Scotland and hear about how and why to add more fruits, vegetables and grains to your diet while improving your health and making the most of Scotland’s abundant larder.
Jackie also asks some philosophical questions about going vegan along the way. Suitable for all those with an interest in plant-based cooking, ethics, nutrition and the environment.

Scottish Vegan Festival

One of the biggest events on the city’s vegan calendar! The Scottish Vegan Festival returns to the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, for a day full of interesting talks and a range of vegan stalls selling snacks, clothes, beauty products, street food and much more.
