BrewDog is a Scottish craft beer brand that has grown into a global institution with bars all over the world. Registered with the Vegan Society, BrewDog has already gone to some lengths to make sure that the majority of their beer can be enjoyed by vegans.
But recently they have gone one step further by making some of the food in their bars friendly for vegans too. After some rigorous testing in September 2018, there are now a few decent vegan options to choose from on their menu. Plus, from now until the end of November 2018, BrewDog is offering 2-for-1 on vegan mains every Monday. Check their Facebook page for more info.

How much did it cost?
The entire meal pictured above came to £26.15 (excluding tip).
Mr B and I popped along one night to take advantage of their 2-for-1 Vegan Mondays deal, which made the whole experience easier on our wallet. Burgers were priced at £8.50 (with the option to upgrade to fries etc for £2.00 extra), while sides and snacks were priced at £3.50 – £4.00. You can also buy a pint of Punk for the kitchen, if you feel so inclined. We all know that cooking can be thirsty work.
Is it any good?
The vegan Clucky This Time burger is definitely one of the better seitan burgers I’ve had. Avocado and coriander is one of my favourite flavour combinations, and it made this burger really tasty. Having said that, it was a touch on the dry side, and I would say there was definitely room for more toppings.
The fries were delicious and came in a lovely generous portion, perfect for sharing between two. Our favourite part of the whole meal was the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings, which were a wee bit on the spicy side but lovely dipped into the veganaise served on the side. You wouldn’t go too far wrong ordering a big sharing portion of those bad boys!
We’re so happy that BrewDog continues to grow its vegan offering. With two great locations in Edinburgh’s city centre, this is a great place to Edinburgh a decent helping of vegan-friendly burgers and beers.
We enjoyed our meal at BrewDog Lothian Road, but there is also another venue at 143 Cowgate, EH1 1JS.
